Information we do not intentionally request for ordinary use
The App is not designed to require your Wi-Fi password, router administration password, contacts, SMS messages, call history, microphone recordings, camera images, health information or banking credentials in order to scan or analyze Wi-Fi networks.
3. Nearby Wi-Fi Scanning and Network Data
Depending on Android version and device support, scan results can include:
- SSID (the visible Wi-Fi network name);
- BSSID or other network hardware identifier where exposed by the system;
- signal strength (RSSI);
- Wi-Fi channel and frequency;
- security/capability information reported by Android;
- whether a network is currently connected or nearby;
- technical timestamps or scan metadata.
This information is used to help you compare nearby networks, identify crowded channels, visualize signal strength and understand your wireless environment.
The App is not intended to reveal Wi-Fi passwords, bypass network security or obtain unauthorized access to third-party networks.
4. Why Wi-Fi Scanning May Require Location Permission
On certain Android versions, the operating system treats Wi-Fi scan results as location-sensitive information because nearby wireless networks can potentially be used to infer a device's location. Android may therefore require a location-related permission before an App can access Wi-Fi scan results.
WiFi Booster may request the permission necessary to obtain scan results and perform its Wi-Fi analysis. The permission requirement originates from Android's platform rules and can vary by Android version.
You control this permission through your device settings. If you deny or revoke it, Wi-Fi scanning or nearby-network analysis may become unavailable or limited.
5. Internet Speed, Ping and Latency Tests
When you start a speed or latency test, the App communicates over your internet connection with test infrastructure or network endpoints. These communications are necessary to estimate connection performance.
Measurements can include:
A test server or infrastructure provider involved in the measurement may necessarily receive technical network information such as your public IP address and request timing in order to send and receive test data.
Speed-test results are estimates and can vary due to server distance, Wi-Fi interference, network load, router performance, ISP conditions, VPN use, device capability and other factors.
6. Current Network Information and Security Analysis
The App may read technical information exposed by Android about your current network connection in order to provide network-status, signal and security-related information.
This can include:
- Wi-Fi versus mobile/network connection status;
- signal level and link-related values;
- frequency or channel information;
- network security/capability information exposed by the operating system;
- local connection information used to display diagnostics;
- internet reachability and latency-related results.
Security information shown by the App is informational and based on data made available by Android. It should not be interpreted as a guarantee that a network is secure, uncompromised or suitable for sensitive activity.
7. Local Processing and Stored Preferences
Many network-analysis calculations and presentation tasks can occur locally on your device. The App may also store settings or recent technical values locally to maintain functionality and user preferences.
Local data may include:
- display and theme settings;
- language or unit preferences;
- recent scan or test settings;
- temporary network-analysis information;
- cached results required to display parts of the interface.
Clearing App storage or uninstalling the App may remove locally stored settings and cached information, subject to Android's behavior and any information independently retained by third-party providers.
8. Advertising
The App may contain advertising. Where ads are enabled, advertising providers may process information needed to deliver, measure, limit and protect advertisements.
This can include:
- advertising identifiers or similar device/app identifiers;
- IP address and approximate location derived from network information;
- device model, operating-system version, language and App version;
- ad impressions, clicks and other ad interactions;
- fraud-prevention and security signals;
- consent status and privacy preferences.
Where required by law or platform policy, consent may be requested before personalized advertising, tracking or certain identifier-based processing occurs. You may also have advertising/privacy controls in Android or your Google account.
9. In-App Purchases
The App may offer in-app purchases through Google Play. Google processes the underlying payment method. We do not receive your full payment-card number or Google account password.
We may process limited transaction-related information such as:
- product identifier;
- purchase token;
- transaction or order identifier;
